In 2001 the LTS moved from Enhlanhleni in KwaZulu/Natal to its present location in Arcadia, which is an eastern suburb of South Africa’s capital city: Pretoria, the city of purple Jakarandas. Pretoria is part of the larger metropolitan area named Tshwane, therefore the Name: LTS in Tshwane. The aim of this move was not only to move closer to the Head office of the Lutheran Church in Southern Africa [LCSA] situated in Soweto, Mofolo North and also more into the centre of its five dioceses. The move was also to facilitate the strongly desired co-operation with the Free Evangelical Lutheran Synod in South Africa [FELSiSA], which has its Head Office just down the road at St.Pauls. The added advantage of being in close proximity to the University of Pretoria and thus enabling our students to enrol there and utilise teaching staff from there, made this a goal worth striving for. We are situated on Arcadia Street between Farenden and Becket Street at the centre of this plan, where you see this Luther rose: |
