· Overview · Exegesis and Theology of both Old and New Testament · Church History through the Ages - especially of the Lutheran Church · Lutheran Symbolics and Dogmatics · Lutheran Practice of Theology · The duration of the theological course offered at the LTS in Tshwane is, as a rule, five years with two years of introductory subjects, two years of theology proper and one year of internship with the possibility of post-graduate studies at the University of Pretoria. · As part of the introductory or bridging course the participation of classes offered to become English and computer literate is compulsory. · Students, who perform very well in their fourth year November examination [i.e. get more than 70%] are encouraged to enrol with the University of Pretoria for the Theology Honours post-graduate program, while continuing with the practical internship at Seminary. · The academic year usually starts on the 1st February for the first Semester and on the 15th July for the second Semester. The first Semester closes on the 15th of June and the second Semester on the last Friday of November with the graduation. · The break for Easter (April) and St. Michaels (October) as a rule last two weeks. · The LTS does not have classes on Church or national holidays. |
